Who we are

Sutton SSP is formed from the 2 original Sports College Hub sites, The John Fisher School in Purley and Carshalton Boys Sports College in Carshalton.

Based at CBSC we are now 4. We are all qualified and experienced teachers with a broad range of skills ranging from EYFS to KS5.
We work closely with 45 primary and infant schools, 15 secondary schools and 5 special schools in London Borough of Sutton.

Our services

Key partners such as The London Borough of Sutton Public Health, London Sport, Youth Sport Trust, Association for Physical Education, Create Development enabling us to provide;

  • Self Review/Action Plan bespoke to each school with the PE Coordinator in July
  • Up to 12 half days access to a Primary Sport Development Officer who can provide any of the following in any combination
  • Assistance with development planning, curriculum planning, Ofsted guidance and assessment for PEInset- whole day/half day/twilightTeam Teaching/support where needed
  • Onsite festival organisationTraining for lunchtime supervisors – playground activities
  • School invite to additional borough competitions, including festivals for KS1 pupils.
  • Support to achieve Healthy Schools London accreditationSupport in achieving the CMO’s recommendation of at least 30 extra active minutes during the school
  • Continued access to all School Games branded competitions free of charge
  • One free place at annual PE conference to be held in conjunction with Croydon School Sports Partnership.
  • Support with your co-ordination of external coaching; assisting you in identifying suitable coaches and organisations, providing quality assurance and signposting coaching staff to training in curriculum delivery and lesson planning where required.
  • Annual Youth Sports Trust membership (at a reduced cluster rate) and access to one YST CPD event plus quality Mark. Plus access to afPE membership benefits via the Partnership – linking all key partners.
  • Ongoing support in embedding Create Development ‘Real PE
